It was a great birding experience with Bird Trails Sri Lanka. Our Birdguide Thilina and Indunil have immense experience in birding and photography. We had 10 wonderful days in Sri Lanka. Accommodation and food were good. The birding sites that we visited enabled us to take many good photos of birds especially those that are endemic to Sri Lanka. Their experience and ability to located birds are beyond comprehension. Bravo!
Excellent service, lots of cares, attentive to request where possible, greatest good treatment to all members that they have provided. This is my 2nd time with Thini and I still achieved more than 150 birds species, many thanks to them that they tried their very best to hunt for max birds where possible. Strongly recommended!
I recently concluded a 12 day tour with Thilina and it was fantastic. The tour was tailor made (My priorities were endemic, select migrant and some key resident birds plus a few mammals). I left Sri Lanka having seen every endemic bird and a wide range of animals. Thilina knows the parks and knows how to find your targets. And if for any reason he cannot find something on your first pass, he will have a plan B and even a plan C. On top of all of that, we had plenty of fun. I would recommend him to anyone planning a bird or wildlife trip to Sri Lanka.
Thili is one of the best bird guides I have met. He has fantastic knowledge of where to see all of Sri Lanka's key species. In a weeks tour we saw and photographed all the endemic birds and saw a great many more other species. Thili works really hard to make sure everyone sees the birds and is also great company. I recommend him to anyone visiting Sri Lanka with an interest in birds and wildlife.

It was a fantastic tour with our guide Thili! We saw all of endemic birds and some of amazing reptiles. If given the chance, we'll definitely have Thili lead us on more adventurous trips around Sri Lanka in the future. In short, I highly recommend it.
A 9-day birding trip in Sri Lanka was recently completed. It was a 5-star birding experience i have ever experienced, especially with extraordinary, passionate and talented naturalists Thili and Indunil. We have encountered lots of endemic birds, attractive resident birds, mammals and impressive herpetofauna during the trip! Apart from the comprehensive knowledge on wildlife, Thili and Indunil are humble, patient, sincere and lots of care for all our members. Thili listens us attentively and pay heed to our concerns during the whole trip, and discussed the programmes with us day by day. During the birding, Thili and Indunil were proactively searching birds and other animals for us and provided us detailed information about the birds. Our members took many great photos of wildlife especially those endemic species in Sri Lanka. In conclude, we have 9 wonderful days in Sri Lanka, encountered lots of animals and nice people. Food, accommodation and weather were very nice. We were so lucky to have Thili and Indunil as our guides and it is strongly recommended Bird Trails Sri Lanka for everyone! I chose to go with Bird Trails Sri Lanka for my birding tour, and from the very first message, Thilina was exceptionally professional—answering every question promptly and clearly. My guide, Indunil, was truly perfection. His job was simply to show me birds, but he went far above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable throughout the entire journey. He personally checked that every hotel met my requirements and helped me with almost everything during the tour. As a spotter, he is outstanding, and as a photography guide, he is even better—always making sure I had the perfect light, angle, and location to capture each bird beautifully
As members of the Owl Conservation Association in Poland, we visited Sri Lanka twice to search for these birds. Thilina is an excellent guide, has great knowledge about the habitats of individual species, knows their calls perfectly, and is extremely effective at locating birds. We just completed a 5 day tour with Thilana of Bird trails. Although we joined on day 4 of the 9 day tour, Thilana tried so very hard to ensure that we covered the species we had missed in the earlier part of the tour. He was so caring and concerned for our safety at every step.His network of locals who help provide guaranteed sightings of the rarest species is remarkable indeed. His skills and hardwork combine to provide both birders and photographers the best experience one can ask for. The fact that he showed us almost every endemic species in Sri Lanka is a testimonial to that. Being a birder for more than 50 years, the tour was now set up for Sri Lanka. Choosing Bird trails with Thilina as my guide was truly a pleasure from the first day! Seeing all the 35 endemics species and more than 230 species in total made the trip to a great success! Thilina is really a keen birder and an expert on the Sri Lankan wildlife in general! On top of that, was the great taste of the Sri Lankan kitchen and learnings about Sri Lankan culture and traditions! This trip was truly impressive. Absolutely superb! Would give this 6/5 if that were possible. Thilli was fantastic. His bird knowledge is amazing, backed by a great network of local friends that helped locate a range of hard to find species, especially endemic owls. He is the consumate professional but also very amiable, friendly and flexible. We recommend him in the highest possible terms. We will be back.
